CloudUCM coming soon

Just saw in the GDMS maintenance notice that it said CloudUCM will be released soon. I’m pretty excited about this. Does anyone have some inside info on how much it will cost? I asked my distributor if they know, waiting on a reply.

I don’t know cost but we are beta testing it.

Oh cool, I knew some folks had gotten access. Is the gui the same?

For the most part. Will find out how much more we can share.

Thanks @williehowe

I understand not being able to say much. But one thing maybe you can answer, do you like it so far?

I think it has a nice place in the lineup. Until I can’t be any longer I’ll be on prem first.

Many of my sites cant be off premises, I really only do telecom now when it integrates with nurse call / RTLS systems, and while not impossible, its life safety. If a car accident disrupts internet, no nurse call could be life and death, so there will always be a need for on prem of some kind.

I actually prefer onprem myself. But I have some locations that have 3 or 4 phones. Usually small doctors office. Most have a small 6301 or 6202 but it just seems unnecessary these days. I have cloud service, it works fine, but I really like the ucm interface and how it works. Being able to fire up a ucm instance and just get them going seems really cool to me.

Grandstream also lists the CloudUCM on the helpdesk portal when you are selecting a product to report an issue when starting a ticket.

I think it will be similar to using freepbx online, if you have used it. Just a virtual machine running Grandstreams version of there gui over asterisk. I’m concerned over the cost and if it is worth not having hardware onsite. I’m my experience so far, on site PBX just performs better than cloud service. But as soon as I can I’m definitely gonna see how it performs.

That’s fantastic. I think it’s a great addition to the fleet – and we will probably recommend it for disaster recovery or failover but we will continue to be on prem first.

Grandstream Cloud pricing has shown up. I hope as a reseller I can get for a little lest. Probably start my free trial this week.

This is retail pricing. Still waiting on my vendor to tell me what my cost is.

So far it is no different then a local ucm to me. I have an instance up and running and its working fine for the most part. email test doesn’t work, but if configured correctly it sends out emails for any alerts/sip info/blah blah. I have one extension registered and the ucm does not show it as online, but I can send/receive calls.
One thing I have noticed is it’s super fast. Making and applying changes happens quickly.
I really hope to use this as a back up for my clients that need that much up time.

It’s pretty easy but also young, keep that in mind. For $159 you get 4 calls and 10 extensions… for just a bit more I can get two UCM6301 and use one as an SBC and the other as the PBX… Most flexible trunks start out with more concurrent calls than 4… in fact we don’t have a provider starting under 10 concurrent call paths on a flexible trunk…

It is lightning fast for sure – I’d pay those prices to run it on my own hardware… just sayin!

It’s so fast I keep getting that error “you’re making changes to fast” wait before applying again. haha. I would love to run this on custom hardware, maybe one day.
