Distinctive Ring GRP261X phones

I know I have been through this, but I am unable to get a different ring tone for internal calls. I entered the pattern (xxx in this case) in the phone’s Accounts/Call Settings/Ringtones Matching Rule and selected a different ring tone. In this case my extensions are 3 digits. This does not seem to work as the regular ringtone is always used. In my test case I tried xxx and 370 which was the other extension I was testing from. The phone is a GRP2616 and is running firmware 1.0.13.21. It is connected to a UCM6308. Does anyone have this working and if so, what am I missing. I just need a different ring for internal calls vs external calls.

Thanks in advance.

Edit the extension on the ucm and go to the media page. Change the alert-info to something besides none. I use Bellcore-dr3. When it’s an internal call the phone rings 3 times quickly. On the inbound route I set the alert-info to Ring 1. So just a regular ring for external calls coming in. That is how I do it, not sure if the best way but it does work.

Thanks Zac. I will give that a try. I appreciate the response.

Do you have it entered as 1xx or 2xx or whatever the first digit of extensions is? That’s what I did and it works great.

@DaveR I have this working for a bunch of our GXP sites.

I will try on one of my GRP’s today and report back. The normal way I do it is if extensions are 1000 I will use 1xxx and set the ring to be the different ring.
