I purchased the OP-01 optical meter to check the light on SFPs and fiber cable power levels for cheap. Currently using media converter with single and multi mode SFPs as the light source. Does anyone have any suggestions on testing fiber cables? Creating a doc for a Jr Network tech, very green.
I recently purchased a fiber termination kit from Vevor for fusion splicing. It was SUPER economical and is packaged well – it also has good reviews. Have you checked them out?
That looks like the kit we bought – and you can get it much cheaper than that right now. Ours also came with all the other tools needed to complete the job.
