Was looking to replace my layer-3 switch with something that more ports. My currently device is 12 ports. Was curious if Grandstream’s GWN7822P is able to route at line speed or it is limited like Microtik switches are? Has anyone here tested out if the Grandstream will route at 10g or is it limited? Also, do ACL rules on the VLAN affect the routing speed? Thanks for the information!
Yes the 10g works as long as you are using the same spf on your server. As far as ACL on vlans, I have never really seen a slow down in speed. Since this is a L3 you could always doing your routing directly on the switch.
Thanks for the heads up. I might pull the trigger and pick one up. I like to do layer-3 routing on the switch with ACL and then just let the router do the NAT, and DMZs for the most part.
