Mail Plus on Synology

About

Self hosting my email and about to switch to name cheap. Any gotchas?

Hi Welcome to the forum.
Main thing is to make sure you get your SPF/DMARC/DKIM/MX records configured correctly. I have not used namecheap for hosting email. What makes you want to use them?

The google domain nonsense. I’m there now and it seems need to move. As I don’t have a static IP and use DDNS.

Gotcha. I still run one domain on mine for email, mostly to use it’s smtp for old equipment that just doesn’t work with gmail or o365 modern authentication.

thats what i use synology mail for too, better than trying to run a relay server.

I use Synology mail for my email Namecheap I just went to from google domains and trying to figure out how to set up the dang email end. specifically the ddns on Synology for Namecheap also. brick wall I have hit.

You can also use DNS Exit as a go between if you don’t have a static IP. It’s SUPER inexpensive and we have several clients running it with no complaints.

so specifically I followed your guide for email on synology and I am running dns exit.
