I have a problem and I am at a lost to explain for solve.
I have a UDR, and the older 8 port Unifi switch, that switch connects to a Flex Mini in my shed out back, which in turn is connected to a mini flex at my grandparent’s old home next door. I have a Nanobeam 5AC Gen2 connected to the shed switch, and it connects to a nanobeam 5AC gen2 at my dad’s shed across the street. won’t get into the AP’s cause I don’t think they have anything to do with the problem.
So I started having some port problems on the flex minis. So I bought a Unifi Lite 16 for my home switch connected to the UDR. Bought the USW Flex switches and put those in my shed, the old house and across the road at Dad’s shed.
Now the PtP with the two Nanostations were working flawlessly in the old setup. However, all the APs work fine with new switches. The problem happens when I plug the Nanobeam in the shed switch. When I do I get a green light on the shed switch, and it totally kills my lite 16, No lights except the white light for power slowly flashes. I can unplug the Nanobeam and it finally will come back up.
I have the nanobeams on static IPs set in Unifi. I finally noticed that it was showing an Ip address that was already taken by one of my switches. Which I don’t understand at all. So I took the nanobeams down and reset to factory and re configured them. Once I got that done, I plugged the Nanobeam AP into the Lite 16 and no problem, I could see it on unifi, and it has the correct IP I set for it. I hooked it into the shed switch and it worked fine for 30 minutes. Then once I put it up on the pole it’s mounted on and connected it immediately shut down the Lite 16 again. Makes no sense to me how that can be. The ethernet cable is good, nothing has changed since I unplugged the nano from it, it was working perfectly with the old setup and it’s not damaged anywhere.
Does anyone have ANY idea what the problem is? there are no IP conflicts now so that’s not the problem.
Thanks
