Customer wants to extend connectivity to his shop, its 130 ft away from the house. Customer does not want to bury any type of line through his driveway to his shop. Trying to decide between ubiquity Air Max nanobeam 5ac or Grandstream 7664LR. I have one client set up with a outdoor AP from Grandstream in bridge mode at about 100 ft distance and they have no issues and really like it. The ubiquity route is a little bit cheaper, just unsure since I’ve never used it.
There will be another shop added that’s about 300 ft away in the future. House sets between two shops and is surrounded by trees so we’ll have to get creative with getting to the shop that’s 300 ft away in the future.
Both shops will eventually have IP cameras installed and will just be doing internet browsing.
I have had good luck using the ubiquiti nanobeams, with lots of trees the nanobeam 2ac would probably have better signal. I use the 60ghz bridge at my house that @rutman286 mentioned, crazy fast! But they do need line of site with nothing in-between.
Nanoloco m2 or m5. Just sent an m2 with my buddy for the same exact reason. I did the config, all he had to do it mount it and plug it in. He said it’s working as expected. I also use them for customers that have fishing docks behind their homes, reaching I over 350ft into the lake. No issues. They can also be bridges as well. Just remember to change it to a bridge ap and turn off air max.
You do not have to go with the GWN7664LR for both ends. But they do work well. I have several in mesh configurations at campgrounds that do not have 100% line of sight, but they still work great. I have 90-95% line of sight I would guess. There are other GWN76xxLR units you could choose from. The GWN7630LR, the GWN7660LR and the newer GWN7660ELR and GWN7664ELR. The GWN7660ELR units are a bit cheaper than the GWN7664LR and I have a couple in a test setup and they are working well. Not using them for point to point yet though. Let us know which route you go and how it performs.
I have a customer with that owns two houses, 800 yards apart. I use airMAX NanoStation 5AC Loco in bridge mode on 80mhz @450mbps 10dbi, clear line of site 22ft off the ground. I’ve used this as a CPE and connected @3.5 miles 20mhz 133mbps. UI has some great stuff, in a lot of cases, the cheaper stuff works out better than you would expect. I buy and try, because if I don’t, I wont know how good the product actually is.
