PassPoint question

So I have been looking into Passpoint this past week. Aruba has so great documentation about this and personally I find this to be great technology and hopefully used more especially for the small to mid retail shop and possibly in the residential or mdu spaces. The trouble that I am finding out is there are not a lot of third parties to handle the connection between my radius server to the cellular side. Sorry for not knowing the official term. I have found SingalRoam but they are really expensive to try out. Does anyone have any cheaper options?

I’m looking into Google Orion at https://orion.google

The theory here is that they work with other carriers to “buy” bandwidth off of you. The default is $0.30 US per gig.

I’m testing on 2 of my client sites. I’ll follow up if they start buying from with of those two sites.

Yeah I was looking at google’s Orion but really couldn’t find any pricing. One question though, do locked into a contract or is it month to month? Thanks for the info and yes please keep us updated on how it goes.

There is no cost to us as an operators. You can cancel at any time, but you have to flip a switch on their web portal to stop the service first.

We’re actually looking into this for a client right now – it could be a good source of revenue for sure!

A few things I noticed and maybe Willie you can help out? I really can’t find any documentation on if the radius portion of the OSEN section in GS supports Radsec? And how to put in the MCC and MNC in the Hotspot2.0 section.

Got this from GS tech support,

Thank you for contacting Grandstream technical support,

RADSEC is a pending feature that is not supported on the GWN access points.

MCC and MNC can be configured under the Cellular Network option. When you click Add, it will show when to enter the MCC and MNC.

I will keep you posted about the RADSEC support.
