Is there a particular problem you are trying to solve by switching? Take time to make sure the GCC actually has all of the features you want to use. It is a very pretty UI and whatnot, but it is not totally on par with the incredible work UI has been doing on their firewalls as of late.
TP Link is better than the USG-3P they are running. XD
personally I wouldn’t have any tp link device that was internet facing, internal yes, there security track record seaks for itself, especially their recent shenanigans towards vulnerability disclosures
no problem, very happy with them, just want a plan b under the belt which can give similar functionality, especially at a lower price, also the broadcom/vmware example can be repeated anytime with unifi - i want an alternative solution ive trained on
Grandstream have been around for ages and were always… hey wow look at the functionality for the price, you install and it kinda works well enough, most of the time, there little cheap 286 ata was a classic example
but the gcc is a gameschanger especially in smaller sme’s, been trialling it now and although its still got the grandstream rough edges, it is solid, without most of your final invoice profit going to unifi - been there as a microsoft partner (tax collector for ms!)
ps pay apple prices and get the boring apple quality and lock in, nothing wrong with that… or get the grandstream “android” experience and be a self empowered geek still making good money
The GCC601x series is definitely a cut above all devices in it’s price range. It’s going to change the security posture of many small businesses for the better. Wait until their announcement this week about the bigger GCC devices!
Interesting tease Willie. I will be looking for that for sure. Also (off topic) any word on ZeroTier for the GCC or GWN700X line? I have heard they are working on it, but nothing more.
They have just released a new beta firmware for ucm series
WOW have they been busy!
Reassuring to see the extra emphasis on security, a point where unifi generally “win” over the cheaper alternatives
They added Geo-IP access control to the UCM, that is awesome.
