I upgraded to the Rujie Reyee WiFi7 APs. If anyone in the US wants to test the RG-RAP2260E (POE+) or RG-RAP2260H (POE++) let me know. The APs are 9inX9in in size. I have 9ft ceiling in my home, so wifey approved.
Always good to make sure it’s approved!
Yes, I can still buy new IT stuff. The WiFi 7 APs appear smaller with the new design. I am collecting to much stuff again.
Yeah, I get that. I usually end up donating lots of stuff after i’ve gotten my use out of it. There are a few non profits that have service with me so I always try and hook them up. Ill be buying the GS wifi7 when it shows up at my distributor.
I purchased this model, RG-RAP73Pro, Ruijie Wi-Fi 7 BE14000 Tri-Band Ceiling Access Point.
I donated some Fractal mid-tier cases with the mobo and CPU. Hopefully I made someone day. I left the CPU i9 and and cooler in the cases.
Do they already have MLO working on these WiFi 7 APs? If so – are they using all three bands or just two?
That is good questions. Per the manual and Reyee YouTube video, there should be an option to enable MLO. I do not see that option currently. I post this on the Reyee forum. I may need a firmware update.
All set, I enabled MLO will do some testing.
I’d love to see the speed and how the client and AP handle the connection when you get far enough away that 5 and 6 Ghz don’t work appropriately, and it has to fail to just 2.4.
I do not have a SSID configured to use 2.4 for any our personal devices. I did notice an improvement using the RAP73Pro with MLO enabled.
iPhone 16 Pro - 950 Mbps down (line of sight AP)
iPhone 12 Pro - 770 Mbps Down (line of sight AP)
iPhone 12 Pro - 370 Mbps Down (through sheetrock wall)
HP EliteDesk 800 - 465 Mbps (line of sight USB2.0 wifi adapter)
I have the enterprise model RG-RAP73HD which will be mounted in the garage. Will test range on this the garage doors up and down.
Also, Have a RG-RAP72-Wall to be installed in a bedroom with gym equipment and a sauna. The wifi signal from a ceiling AP in another room is ok; the in wall AP will provide a wired network connection for the equipment.
Does the 12 have wifi 6e (6ghz)?
From a Google search:
No, the iPhone 12 supports 5G mobile networks, not 5GHz Wi-Fi.
But on the Apple website:
Not a suggestion, but a fact. The iPhone 12 Pro Max certainly supports 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
An issue I am experiencing is the USB Wifi adapter with the Realtek chipset that randomly disconnects. Looking for a Intel base USB 3.0 wifi adapter.
