Sending to system voicemail when a call is forwarded to a mobile but rejected

We’ve got a hybrid office and most employees have cell-phones. While I don’t mind single users rejecting a phone call on their cell phone and the user going to the voicemail of our mobile provider, we do have some functional groups that forward to a bunch of cell phones. My problem is that when a user rejects a call on their cellphone, the caller is directed to their individual cellular provider. I’d prefer the caller go to the UCM voicemail so that the message can be emailed to our user groups. we’ve used voip.ms in the past where using the “Press 1” functionality means that the line continues to ring until a user presses 1 - aka when a call is rejected on a cell phone it keeps ringing the other lines, and will eventually go to the function voicemail.

Is there any way we can do that with the UCM? We’re still in the process of setting up wave and are having some issues with remote users, so I’m not yet ready to eliminate forwarding to cell phones.

The UCM or rather any PBX is treating it like an outside call. If something answers it bridges the audio.

Only way to do it is to have a shorter extension vm timer than the cell phone VM timer. Maybe train users to not reject the call on the cell phone which triggers the direct to VM but rather train them to silent the call which would still let it ring and follow any timers. On Android you can just press the volume down key (I think) to silence an incoming call.

One other way that “might” is to use the follow me section of the extension in question. In there you can turn on “Confirm When Answering” which requires the answering party to confirm the call by pressing 1. Might be worth trying.
