Some special characters not allowed for admin password on GCC Zero Config

Just wanted to pass along that in the latest firmware for the GCC601X series, I have found that some special characters that were allowed in the past, are not accepted now in the GCC UC Endpoints VOIP Device configs. I have been using special characters in the admin web interface password on phones and send that password to the phones under Global Policy. In my lab setup, my GCC6010 is on System Version 1.0.7.46 and PBX Version 1.0.27.90. I tested further and found the following characters that are allowed and not allowed.

accepted # & * + = / . ,

rejected ! @ $ % ^ ? < >

I have a ticket open with GS support, and will update this post with results from the ticket.

Forgot to add that I tried using the special characters above in the Global Policy, Global Templates, and Model Templates and none would accept it. But I could add it to the settings of the actual endpoint device in the Zero Config list. If I try and enter the rejected characters, when I save, it says “Invalid value”

Dave – thanks for the heads up! Hopefully they’ll address this or at least tell us why they’re rejected. Maybe a coding issue?

The latest reply on the ticket says the issue will be resolved in an official firmware release. No ETA at this time for that release.
