Is it me, or is Ubiquiti changing all of the old firmware to comply with whatever it is they are doing, as well as preventing Airmax from being disabled in devices like a nanostation loco m2. I received a new Rocket 5AC Lite about a month ago, and was not able to go from 8.7.11 to 8.5.12 (I run only 8.5.12 on access points due to channel skipping), I was able to get it to 8.7.8 or something, then bring it down to 8.5.12. I’ve noticed the build numbers are different from my older 8.5.12 file, to a newer 8.12.5 if I downloaded it now. I have also noticed on UISP I’m not able to see details of a device unless its on 8.7.11 or .12. Maybe a big change is coming for Airmax?

Not sure – they disabled the option to turn off airmax a long time ago.
But not on nanostation locos… I was able to find an old version to use it as an outdoor access point.
