Unifi Public Address Use

Hi

I am looking at getting a UCG-Max-NS and can get a /29 or /30 address range from my isp. so 1 public address will be on the WAN going to the ISP. Question is can I use 1 or more public’s from another port on this box. Did watch this video Disabling NAT in UniFi and this shows how to set this up but wanted confirmation from some one who has this working before buying. I am an engineer and setup firewall’s etc so need to plug in the WAN port to this unifi and test things like remote access so this port needs to be No NAT.

this is what I would like to do with equipment that will be the sevrer

Use a Public IP on LAN using ‘IP Routed Subnet’ Interface | DrayTek

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks,

Yes you can – as long as the IPs are routed to you correctly.

Thanks Willie, I am using IDNET so it is a PPPoE connection can you define as long as the IPs are routed to you correctly a bit more. The first address will be used by the WAN itself and I want to use another public address on the wan side of a firewall connected back another port on the router. Thanks

I don’t see why this wouldn’t work. On the WAN you just go ahead and add extra IPs and it should work.

Or if you don’t want them NATTed you could set them up as a VLAN (doesn’t matter to your ISP) and then do a non natted VLAN.

Will get a cloud gateway ultra and try it will let you know and others know 100% via this chat once i have it.

Awesome! If the cloud gateway ultra is too cumbersome you could also try a Grandstream router.

Any particular models to go for ?

Unifi is coming today but can be returned if required

Thanks,

If you already have that it will work – I may have misunderstood that you had gear enroute.
