If you travel outside your home location, using a vpn to get an IP address from your home location is not enough to validate YouTube Tv. To validate your home location, YouTube Tv is requiring a mobile device with an IP address from your home network not a pc. I now leave a cell phone at home connected to Wi-Fi configured with my Google account. A wireguard vpn and a cell phone is saving me from buying more streaming services for market sporting events.
We have used YouTube TV since it started. I used to use a fire stick and when we traveled we would take the fire stick with us and I had problems with it being out of the home area.
Several years ago we switched over to Apple TV boxes to stream at home, and when I upgraded to a newer version at home I took one of the old ones and used it for traveling. Never had a problem with it at all after that. We have used it two states away from our home area and it streams our home channels just fine.
We have two Apple TV 4Ks in our travel trailer now and I run Nord Vpn on them but even if I disconnect the VPN it still works fine.
I purchased an AppleTV installed Youtube TV connected to wireguard was hit with you are out of your Home location. I am away from my home months at a time.
I am looking to replace my Firesticks with Apple Tvs.
Yessir, I hear you and don’t understand why I have never had that happen. We live in NE Florida which puts us in the Jacksonville market and we have traveled to North West Georgia, Western North Carolina, and East Tennessee and never had that problem.
I think the issue is, we stay longer in SC thank NJ over home area.
